From the 27th floor, the avenue becomes a grey river. I’ve been watching how the afternoon sun cuts across the glass — it turns everything amber for about twelve minutes. That slice of warmth feels like a secret.

the marginalia of strangers

Found a used copy of ‘The Moviegoer’ with notes in the margins — someone underlined every sentence about movies and wrote “YES” next to a paragraph about loneliness. I wonder if Binx would approve.
